Abstract
902,731. Trousers. HUTCHISON, H. F. Oct. 28, 1958 [Oct. 28, 1957], No. 34489/58. Class 141. [Also in Group VIII] In manufacturing trousers, the desired creases are formed in the constituent pieces prior to making up the trousers. To form the crease, a trouser piece 1 with the position of the crease marked at 2 is placed on a sheet of cardboard &c. so that the line 2 coincides with a fold 3 in the sheet; the part 7 of the cardboard sheet is superimposed on the central part 6 and associated trouser part by folding along the line 4, then the part 5 is folded along the line 3, and the folded assembly is heated to produce the trouser crease. In a modification, the part 7 is separate from the rest of the cardboard sheet. In a further modification, a length of material is folded accordionwise and is creased prior to cutting out the trouser pieces, so that the elements are cut out ready-creased.
