A train indicator comprises indicia bearing discs 2, 3, 4, 5 which are rotated by electric motors 6 and are either arranged in overlapping relationship as shown or if of the same diameter as one another, are relatively offset to present common information projected on to a translucent screen 1 by optical projection means 7, 8, 9-control being effected by a punched card system.
