902,135. Finishing yarns. MOULINAGE ET RETORDERIE DE CHAVANOZ. Dec. 19, 1960 [Dec. 18, 1959], No. 43646/60. Drawings to Specification. Class 120 (3). Synthetic polymer yarn is bulked by passage in contact with a heated surface to set the yarn, then in light brushing contact with the interior of a cooling tube, thence to a false-twisting device and finally to a take-up, the tube being so arranged that the false-twist runs along the yarn to the heat-setting zone. Heating apparatus may comprise a curved metal tube heated by passage of electric current therethrough. The cooling tube may comprise fins for increased contact with the outer air or a jacket for the passage of cooling fluid.
