Abstract
901,825. Picking-up golf balls. FORDHAM PRESSINGS Ltd., and PARKER, J. F. May 16, 1961 [May 18, 1960], No. 17490/60. Class 61. In a device for picking- up golf balls comprising a rigid tube 10 provided at the pick-up end with yielding means which allow the balls to be entered in the tube, the discharge end of the tube is provided with a grip or handle 13 which is sleeved on to the discharge end of the tube and prevents the balls from being forced out. The hand grip 13 is comprised by a resilient sleeve 11 having an integral, flexible tongue 15 which is of considerably greater length than the diameter of the tube 10, so that when bent over and entered into the discharge end of the tube 10 the flap will bridge the end. The first ball collected is caused to roll to the discharge end of the tube where it becomes wedged between the bevelled face 19 at the end of the flap 15 and diametrically confronting portion of the inner surface of the tube, thus blocking the escape of any further balls collected.
