Abstract

899,894. Valves. BUCK, J. W. Feb. 19, 1960 [April 5, 1959], No. 6000/60. Addition to 823,663. Class 135. [Also in Group XVIII] The device for dispensing oil, milk or other liquids as described in the parent Specification and comprising a measuring vessel 13 carried by a casing 6 rotatable round a plug cock 1 divided by an oblique wall 3 into at least two chambers 4, 5 is modified by the provision of one or more additional measuring vessels so that as one is emptying another is filling. Two diametrically-opposite vessels are shown in Fig. 1, and while the uppermost vessel is discharging through ports 7, 8 and the chamber 5 into the spout 10, the other is filling through the chamber 4 and ports 9, 7. The vessels comprise tubular sections of glass or transparent plastic clamped to a sealing ring 14 by caps 16 and studs 15 and one cap has a knob 18 to assist in rotating the casing 6 and the other carries a tumbling-weight counter 17 as described in the parent Specification. The stop element 20 of a key-operated lock 19 can engage in a hole or slot in a flange 21 of the casing 6. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, eight measuring jars 22 are clamped by straps 30 to the outer casing 28 in which is provided a transfer port 32 for each jar. A counter 36 having a toothed wheel 38 is operated by pins 39 on the outer casing and a pawl 40 on the .plug part 23 engages notches 41 in the easing to prevent reverse rotation.
