Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:0899596/IV (b)/1> (wherein R1 represents a phenyl-lower alkyl radical, in which the phenyl group is unsubstituted or carries one or more lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, methylenedioxy or halogen substituents, R2 represents a halogen atom or a lower alkyl or trifluoromethyl group, X represents a halogen atom or an NH2 group, and the term "lower" denotes the presence of 1-3 carbon atoms) and the alkali metal salts of the compounds in which X is NH2, and the preparation of these compounds by reacting an aniline-2,4-disulphonyl halide of the general formula <FORM:0899596/IV (b)/2> (wherein Hal represents a halogen atom) with an approximately equimolecular proportion of an amine R1NH2 in the presence of an acidbinding condensing agent, and, if desired, reacting the product with ammonia, and further, if desired, converting a resulting free compound into an alkali metal salt or vice versa. The products in which X is NH2 have diuretic and sodiuretic properties.
