Abstract
897,877. Endless track vehicles. PETRIC (IPSWICH) Ltd. May 25, 1960 [March 5, 1959], No. 7694/59. Class 79(1). A unit for attachment to a tractor to provide an endless track in place of each rear wheel comprises a frame for attachment to the back axle and having a bearing surface from which is suspended a further frame for pivotal movement about the axis of the axle, the further frame carrying two rollers about which the endless track passes, and a driving sprocket engaged by the endless track and attached to the vehicle driving shaft. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a bracket member 13, 14, 16 is attached to the vehicle axle 10 and supports the further frame 24 upon a bearing surface 22. Split rollers 36, 38 and 39 are mounted in the frame 24, the latter being positionally adjustable by a device 32. The endless track 44 passes over the split rollers and the driving sprocket 40 attached to the vehicle driving shaft. In a modification, Figs. 4 and 6, the bearing frame 50, 51, 52, 55, 56 supports the further frame 74, 64 by its bearing surfaces 60, 61, the further frame carrying split rollers 76, 82, 84, one of which, 82 is adjustable.
