Abstract

897,848. Door operating appliances. SOC. D'ETUDES VERRlERES APPLIQUEES. Sept. 5, 1958 [March 21, 1957; Sept. 5, 1957], No. 28635/58. Class 65(1). A door closer together with an hydraulic check is formed with means for retaining the door in the open position. As shown in Fig. 3 a carriage 5 is caused to move in a casing 1a, completely filled with oil, against the action of springs 8 by a cam 1 secured to the door and acting on cam followers 3, 4 mounted on the carriage. The cam is formed with recesses 24 of such a size that one of the recesses engages a cam follower 3 when the door reaches the open position, but the recesses ride freely past cam follower 4.
