Abstract
The invention comprises diamides of the formula <FORM:0895693/IV (b)/1> wherein R is a hydrogen or halogen atom, a hydroxyl group of an alkyl, alkoxy alkanyloxy or alkoxycarbonyl group of at most 5 carbon atoms and R1 and R2 are alkyl groups each containing at most 5 carbon atoms. They may be prepared (1) by acetylation of the appropriate N-phenylglycine dialkylamide or a salt thereof; or (2) by condensation of the appropriate acetanilide with a halo-acetyl dialkylamide; or (3) by reaction of the appropriate N-phenyl-N-acetyl-glycine alkyl ester with a dialkylamine. Examples are given. The above diamides may be dissolved in water to form injection solutions having analgesic and antipyretic activity.
