Abstract

895,121. Ventilators; skylights. HARDALL Ltd. May 20, 1960 [May 20, 1959; Oct. 8, 1959], Nos. 17170/59 and 34158/59. Classes 20(3) and 137 A roof ventilator or skylight comprises a cover 10 supported by two pairs of stays 14, the lower ends of which have pins 9 constrained to slide in guides 7, 8 fixed to the side of the roof opening. The stays are held in position by a locking screw 20 which has a pin 18 also constrained to slide in a guide 6. In a modification the lower ends of the stays each have a separate locking screw. The upper ends of the stays are pivotally connected to brackets 11 and spring washers are inserted between the stays and the brackets to prevent rattle and allow a slight angular movement of the stay about the pivot so that the corners of the cover may be raised independently.
