894,755. Lift control systems. MAGEE, J. E. July 20, 1960 [July 24, 1959], No. 25215/60. Drawings to Specification. Class 78 (3). A lift dispatching and control system for a plurality of cars serving a plurality of landings, comprises means for selecting cars for dispatching from a dispatching landing, means for dispatching selected cars from said landing, predicted demand means for each of the served landings for permanently establishing an anticipated demand for service for the landing for which it is provided, registered demand means for each of said served landings operable for registering actual demand for the landing for which it is provided, and dispatching control means responsive to the total service demand established by said predicted demand means and registered by said registered demand means to which the then selected car is subject, for causing said dispatching means to dispatch said selected car when such total service demand exceeds a certain amount. The Specification describes in detail a three car system serving seventeen floors, in which the movable contacts of variable resistances are preset in accordance with anticipated demands from the floors and are moved automatically in response to actual demands, the arrangement being such that when the resistances reach predetermined values they effect dispatching of the cars. U.S.A. Specification 2,589,242 is referred to.
