One or more longitudinal reinforcing rods 11 are secured to, outside the plane of, a mine wall-supporting frame 1-4 for bridging the space between mine arches. Preferably the frame may have the form described in Specification 865,126, which is referred to. The reinforcing rods 11 are preferably welded to rods 10 lying transversely above the legs 1-4 of the frame to which the rods 10 are secured. The rods 11 may extend over part or over the whole length of the frame, may be independent of one another, may be connected together at one end, and may be provided with hook portions at one end.
