Abstract
894,666. Slip-rings and bushes for dynamoelectric machines. BENDIX CORPORATION. Aug. 17, 1960 [Sept. 28, 1959], No. 28543/60. Class 35. A slip-ring and bush assembly for a dynamoelectric machine having a carbon brush 25 sliding on a positive slip-ring 11 of copper and a brush 26 of high copper content (80-90%) sliding on a negative slip-ring of carbon, carries current between source 9 and excitation windings 6 on rotor 2. Copper rings 11, 14 separated by an insulating spacer 12 are pressed on an insulating cylinder 19 carried by a metallic cylinder 20 located by shoulder 21 on rotor shaft 10. Carbon ring 13 is held on copper ring 14 with inclined mating surfaces by nut 24 and spring washer 23, thereby allowing for relative thermal expansion and replacement. In such a machine current flow is always from carbon to copper.
