Abstract

Methyl methacrylate and acrylonitrile with or without styrene are fed as a homogenous liquid mixture into a continuous equilibrium polymerization system and a copolymer containing from 5 to 75% methyl methacrylate, up to 50% styrene and 15 to 50% acrylonitrile, the percentage acrylonitrile being greater than the percentage styrene less 10% and greater than the percentage methyl methacrylate less 55% is continuously withdrawn therefrom. The temperature of polymerization is preferably between 130 DEG and 155 DEG C.
