892,309. Rotary-scythe mowers. REINHOLD, S. W. Nov. 7, 1960 [Nov. 6, 1959], No. 38155/60. Class 6(3). A cuttings-receptacle for a rotary-scythe mower comprises a container 10 with an inlet 26 for cuttings and an outlet 22 for emptying out the cuttings, the container being securable alongside the mower 11 with the inlet adjacent to the ejection orifice 16 of the rotor, the arrangement being that when the mower is tilted upwardly about its rear wheels 14 the container will tilt to empty the cuttings out through the outlet. The container has a longitudinal bar 27 on the side adjacent to the mower, the beam carrying apertured lugs 28, 29 which are engaged by hooks 30, 31 on the mower-frame, the single wheel 33 on the container being then co-axial with the mower-wheels 14. The container has a gauze-covered inspection aperture 25 and a tophinged door 38 which normally lies flush with the outlet 22 to cover it, a weighted bar 39 being secured to the door to ensure this. Tilting of the mower causes the door to open so that the container can be emptied without detachment from the mower.
