Abstract

892,297. Lighting fittings for tubular lamps. REVO ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Jan. 12, 1961 [Jan. 13, 1960], No. 1214/60. Classes 75(3) and 75(4) Means for supporting double-ended elongated lamps, e.g. tubular fluorescent lamps, comprises a hollow casing 11 having a base 12 and an open side 13 opposite to the base with bridge pieces 15 extending across it adjacent to each end, the base 12 and bridge pieces 15 having apertures to receive lamp holders 17 which can be inserted either in the base or in the bridge pieces according to which of these is lowermost when the casing 11 is in its position of use. Each lamp holder 17 has an enlarged end 18 to engage the casing or bridge piece and is secured in position by a Z-shaped clip 19 engaging the upper side of the holder. Fig. 2 shows the arrangement with the base 12 of the casing downwards and Fig. 3 that with the open side 13 downwards and a reflector 21 fitted between the lamp and the casing. End covers 24 to fitover the holders 17 may be provided and a metal tray to support the accessories may be mounted inside the casing.
