Abstract

892,203. Bag fasteners. LAGUERRE, M. A. Nov. 11, 1959 [Nov. 14, 1958; Nov. 20, 1958; March 27, 1959], No. 38315 /59. Class 44. A pliable plastic bag 38 is closed by a twopart device of deformable plastic comprising a looped member 10 and a collar member 12. In operation, the neck of the bag is passed through the loop member 10 over bag gripping teeth 22 formed thereon. The collar member 12, which has internal ridges 36 and an upper rectangular slot 30 is then drawn down over the member 10 temporarily deforming legs 13 thereof, until an internal ridge 34 egages lateral projections 24 formed at the base of the legs. The bag neck is gripped between the teeth 22 and the collar and between the ridges 36 and ridges 20 formed on the member 10. In a modification the teeth 22, Fig. 6, slope equiangularly from each side of the member 10 and are separated from the legs 13 by spaces 45.
