Abstract

892,162. Agitating liquids. MAGIC WHIRL DISPENSERS Inc. Jan. 4, 1960. No. 233/60. Class 86. A glass vessel 51 has a stirrer 53, consisting of a plastic-covered vertically-polarized permanent magnet, see Figs. 10 and 11 (not shown), suspended from a chain 54 and moved around the vessel by an external horizontally-polarized permanent magnet 31 mounted on a shaft 29 rotated by an electric motor 26 through a gearbox 28. The vessel is heated by a thermostatically controlled electric heating element 39, rests on a heat conductive plate 24 below which the thermostat is mounted, and is centred out of contact with the heating element by a bezel 50. The bezel 50, ring 35 and plate 24 are made of non- magnetic heat-reflective material such as polished aluminium. Where more than one vessel is provided in an installation, the external magnets may be driven from a single motor as by pulley 30 and belt 32.
