[Also in Group XXV] A heat insulating sleeve for covering elements such as pipes comprises a flexible sheet of plastic material, a heat-insulating mat 20 secured to one face of the sheet, mating band parts 3, 4 of a link-less sliding clasp fastener of plastic material secured to opposite longitudinal edges 1, 2 of the sheet, and a flap strip 17 of plastic material secured to the plastic sheet near to one of the longitudinal edges, the free end of the flap carrying adhesive material whereby it may be secured at 18 to the other longitudinal edge to provide a protective cover over the mated fastener. The plastic material may be polyvinyl chloride and the mat 20 may be of foam rubber. The sleeve may have thereon a covering layer consisting of a polyvinyl chloride film provided with a coating of aluminium or other metal.
