Abstract

Class 112 [Also in Group VIII] Gathered fabric is made by attaching heatcontractile thread to the fabric and then heating the fabric to cause contraction or shrinkage of the thread. As described, the thread, which is stitched into the fabric, is made from a vinyl polymer, such as polyvinyl chloride, and the fabric and attached thread are heated to a temperature of from 70 to 180‹C., but preferably in a range of from 100 to 105‹C.
