Abstract

890,901. Lubricating spinning rings. COURTAULDS Ltd. Sept. 15, 1960 [Sept. 16, 1959], No. 31548/59. Class 120(2) At least one arcuate channel is cut in one of a pair of mating upright surfaces of a ring and ring- holder, each channel communicating through the holder with an oil reservoir in the holder, the ring being at least partially porous. Two or more channels provided with nicks may be provided either in the same plane or parallel to one another. As shown a channel 6 may be cut in an upright surface 3 of the holder which is adapted to mate with an upright surface of a ring of sintered metal; the channel communicates through passages 7 with a reservoir 2 which may be a blind bore and may contain a pad.
