Abstract

890,826. Printing-telegraph receiving apparatus. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. March 16, 1960 [March 16, 1959], No. 9277/60. Class 40(3). Perforating apparatus for signals comprising code combinations of elements in which a plurality of code combinations are applied in succession to the said apparatus to condition a corresponding number of sets of punches which are actuated simultaneously. The code combinations may be applied to storage means associated with the sets of punch members, and in one arrangement all the signals of a plurality except the final signal are passed to storage members, and the final signal is applied directly to an associated set of punch members. In the diagrammatic arrangement, Fig. 1, the five signal units of a first signal 1 are applied to a storage device Sp and with a very slight delay are passed to a first set St1 of punch members. During the movement of the tape between the punching -operations during the first half revolution of a control shaft, a switch member u is moved to its opposite position so that the second signal is passed directly to the second set St2 of punch members. Both sets of punch members are operated simultaneously during the second half-revolution of the control shaft, during which the switch member u is restored to the position shown. The two groups of perforations may be disposed laterally on a tape of double width, Fig. 3 (not shown), which may be advanced by two sprocket wheels engaging separate sets of feed perforations, Fig. 4 (not shown). In a modification, Figs. 5 and 7, the tape 27 with its plane vertical is fed between punch heads 21, 22 having its sets 25, 24 respectively of punch members staggered in the longitudinal direction of the tape. The pins 35 of the opposed sets 24, 25 are associated with die plates 31, 32 having opposite the pins, sets of holes 34 leading to enlarged portions 34a communicating with cut-out recesses 36, 37 for the passage of the punched-out paper discs or chads to a waste container.
