Abstract
889,510. Injection moulding. HEHL, A., HEHL, K., and HEHL, E., [trading as ARBURG FEINGERATEFABRIK O. H. G. HEHL & SOHNE]. March 4, 1959 [May 30, 1958], No. 7603/59. Class 87(2). An injection unit 2, 5 can be swung about a supporting post 3 into injecting position over a mould (not shown) held by a clamping device 6 which comprises toggle levers 26, 30 and is disposable in a horizontal, Fig. 1, or vertical position, Fig. 2, to provide a sprue passage parallel or perpendicular to the plane of parting of the mould portions. The clamping device 6 comprises fixed and movable mould engaging plates 24, 23 respectively, and an adjustable mounting plate 22 for the toggle mechanism. The plate 23 is slidable on guide rods 27 which also carry members 7 having mutually perpendicular holes to allow horizontal or vertical location of the mechanism on bolts 37 on the base 1 of the machine. A second mould clamping device 8 may be hydraulically, pneumatically or mechanically operated. As shown, a tapered jaw unit 8 engages in guide grooves 41, 42 in the machine base 1. The mould can be accurately located by means of an adjusting screw 46, and can be ejected by a vertically moving post 43 operated by a hand lever 44.
