Abstract

889,440. Motor propelled hand trucks. SHAW, H. May 28, 1958 [May 31, 1957], No. 17281/57. Class 79(3). [Also in Group XXXII] A single wheeled wheelbarrow (see also Group XXXII), may be hand propelled, motor towed, or motor driven by its front wheel, and is provided with inverted U- shaped members 18 rigidly attached to its legs 12 so that a pair of wheels 17 may be releasably attached by an axle 16 to the barrow. When the barrow is tipped the wheels 17 may be left on the ground, but screws 20 or pivoted links may be provided to hold the axle on the barrow. The frame of the barrow may be provided with a ring or shackle 21 engaging a peg 22 mounted on the carriage of a motor unit 23, or provision may be made for accommodating such a unit on the barrow framework to drive directly or indirectly the wheel 13. Extendable handles may also be provided.
