Abstract
888,491. Vehicle lamp bulbs. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 16, 1958 [July 19, 1957], No. 22850/58. Class 39(2) In a bulb for a vehicle lamp having, in the normal operating position, a filament 9 extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis and partly enclosed by a longitudinal trough 22, a flat outwardly extending web 11 is provided at least along one side of the trough and has an upwardly extending flange 21, the free edge of which forms a straight edge of the screen. An additional screen may be provided at the end 13 of the trough nearest the pinch of the lamp and may be apertured for the passage of the filament 9. The screen may be supported by a wire 4 which also forms a connector for one end of the filament. The bulb may also contain an arcuate main filament.
