Abstract

888,353. Smokers' ash-trays. HAPPICH G.m.b.H. GEB. June 8, 1960 [June 18, 1959], No. 20053/60. Class 130. An ash receptacle, tiltable about the end of a spring 4 to move into and out of a casing (not shown) mountable in a motor vehicle, is formed by a sheet member 5 deep drawn from one side into a box-shape and having flanges 7 on which a chromium-plated front panel 6 is mounted, by bent-over tabs thereon, a cutout ash-receiving aperture 10 being provided which may be asymmetrically bridged by a pair of ribs forming a cigar rest (Fig. 1, not shown), but, as shown, has projecting therethrough spring 13<SP>1</SP> co-acting with casing notches to retain the receptacle in open and closed position and the root of which is retained in a flange bulge 16. In Fig. 1 (not shown), a projecting edge of the aperture 10 takes the place of the spring 13<SP>1</SP>. There is refereed to as known a receptacle having a ring-angled portion forming a rear wail and bottom and a U-shaped portion forming front and side walls and to which a front panel is secured.
