Abstract

An epoxy butadiene resin is cured using an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol and an organic polycarboxylic anhydride. The resin should preferably contain at least 5% epoxy oxygen and the amount of curing agent should be 0,5 to 4 equivalents per epoxy oxygen, the anhydride being present in excess equivalents over the alcohol. Ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, 2,3-butanediol glycerol and cyclohexanediol are included amongst the specified alcohols while maleic, succinic, phthalic, pyromellitic and itaconic are in the list of anhydrides.
