888,116. Machinery breaking-pieces. TRIGILIO, G. T. April 14, 1959 [Sept. 26, 1958], No. 12640/59. Class 80 (4). Gears 11, 12 of, for example, a multiple gear pump, are driven from a common shaft 10 through coupling bars 16 fitting in slots in an enlarged portion 13 of the shaft and engaging in internal splines of the gears. The bars 16 are weakened by grooves 23 to form breaking pieces which fracture should one or other of the gears jam or be overloaded.
