Abstract

887,024. Egg boilers. PAUL (PRINTING MACHINERY) Ltd., K. S. Feb. 22, 1960 [Nov. 20, 1958], No. 37376/58. Class 28 (1). An egg boiler has a carriage which can be lowered into and, after a predetermined time, raised from the boiling water, and a lid is provided in which is sufficient space to accommodate the egg after it is raised. The eggs are supported in a carriage 10 in a water container 5 heated by an electric element 35, the carriage being attached by an arm 11 to a slide 12 guided for vertical movement in the lower part of a casing 2. Arms 13, pivoted to the slide, are under the influence of a spring 17 tending to raise the slide and carriage. During cooking, the carriage is held depressed by a catch 22 under the control of a cam 23 on the shaft of a timing-device 24. When released, the carriage is raised into the lid 1 wherein the eggs are kept warm, the lid being hinged to the lower part and provided with a valve 28 to permit escape of steam but prevent spilling of water if the device be overturned.
