[Also in Group XX] A photographic camera with automatic exposure control means has a part operable from outside the camera to hold the exposure control means or a part connected thereto in a desired position sliding the knob 52, Fig. 4, in the direction of the arrow forces a projection 48 on a leaf spring 44 out of the recess 50. Spring 44 thereby releases a weaker leaf spring 38 which presses against a U-shaped member 36 to clamp the moving coil 24 of a photo-electrically controlled galvanometer connected thereto. Member 36 may be replaced by a leaf spring connected to a cam 76. Alternatively, Fig. 6, cam 76 permits a leaf spring 70 to engage a braking surface 82 connected to the moving. coil, but when rotated clockwise it frees the coil. Detents 88, 90 hold cam 76 in its operative positions and a mark 84 indicates the position occupied. In a third embodiment, Fig. 9, a leaf spring 118 engages the diaphragm vane 16 when slide 100 is in its lower position, but when in its upper position, a lug 116 connected thereto holds spring 118 away from vane 16. In a fourth embodiment, Fig. 12, a spring 126 engages the face of vane 16 and when a knob 120 is rotated spring 126 is disengaged by the disc 128.
