Abstract

886,148. Opening metallic containers. MILCO EXPORT A. S. Sept. 26, 1960 [Oct. 7, 1959], No. 33051/60. Class 66. A hermetically sealed can has weakening lines 4, 5 defining a tear strip 6, a ring 8 being held in position by a head 10 against which a cover 12 is frictionally seated. By pulling the tear strip 6 a cover 3 may be removed, the rounded upper edge of the ring 8 providing a smooth edge for the can which may be re-used by applying the cover 12.
