Class 146(2) [Also in Group XVII] The invention relates to improvements to the machine described in the parent Specification. Sealing Means. The plate 2, Fig. 1, that previously extended right across the machine is now shortened to expose a connecting device in a housing 100 on the middle plate 3, such exposure simplifying adjustment and servicing. The flexible binding material, when looped and tensioned around a package has its overlapping ends secured together by a sleeve of strip material Within the housing 100 are a pair of outer jaws 112, Fig. 3, that rise to sheer off a length of binding strip material fed from feed rollers 130, 131, Fig. 1, and fold it upwardly about the ends of the loop. The jaws 112 then pivot towards each other to close the strip material around the ends of the loop, and the inner jaws 113 then form tongues in the edges of the sleeve to effect a secure joint.
