Abstract

885,285. Photo-electric sorting apparatus. GUNSON- (SEEDS) Ltd., R. W. Dec. 11, 1958 [Oct. 20, 1958], No. 13416/61. Divided out of 885,283. Drawings to Specification. Class 40(3). The description is substantially similar to that of Specification 885,283. but it includes a further method of varying the intensity of the reflection from the backgrounds. In this method the backgrounds are not movable, and masks can be placed in front of each lamp so as to reduce the amount of light falling on the backgrounds, Fig. 4 (not shown). The claims are directed to a sorting machine wherein light from the objects to be sorted is 'directed towards photo-electric viewing means which is mounted at the outer end of each of the limbs of a multi-limbed light-conducting member, the photo-electric means controlling further means for separating desired from undesired objects. Specifications 885,286 and 885,287 also are referred to.
