Abstract
882,578. Mercury switches. BENDIX CORPOKATION. May 23, 1960 [May 29, 1959], No. 18143/60. Class 38 (5). In a tilting switch, two electrodes 18, 20 are spaced apart above a low resistance member 26, which may be of platinum, conduction taking place through the electrolyte and the member 26. The resistance of the switch is reduced due to the decreased current path in the electrolyte, resulting in a smaller heat loss.
