Abstract

882,106. Insulation for dynamo-electric machines. ELECTROLUX A.B. Dec. 18, 1957, No. 39314/57. Class 35. The end windings of dynamo-electric machines are insulated by annular caps 36, preferably of transparent nylon, which are shorter than the end windings so as to leave a space 37 for ventilation or an impregnant. There may in addition be holes 39 also to allow of impregnation. The caps may be retained by their own resilience, or by the provision of tabs or a collar to co-operate the motor end plates, together with the securing effect of the impregnant. In alternative arrangements (Figs. 10 to 17, not shown), the caps are secured to each other and/or to the coils by various strips, integral or otherwise with the caps. In these arrangements the cups have large ventilating cut-outs, impregnation is omitted, and the cups are relied on to secure the turns of the coils together.
