Abstract

879,165. Rotor terminals. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Jan. 20, 1960 [Jan. 21, 1959], No. 2120/60. Class 35. [Also in Group XXVI] Leakage from a gas-filled generator along the hollow rotor shaft which accommodates the field leads 3 is prevented by a seal consisting of discs 14, 15 and a synthetic rubber gasket 18 secured by screws 16 in a recess 1b at the end of the shaft. The field lead conductors are of semi-circular section but have cylindrical terminals 7 by which they are connected through leads 9. to slip-rings 13. The terminal portions are sealed by a resilient gasket 19 in a chamfered portion of disc 14. Any number of conductors may be accommodated.
