Abstract
The reaction between a polyisocyanate and a hydroxyl group containing material such as a saturated polyester, polyesteramide or polyether is carried out in the presence of an oxidizing agent (which accelerates the polyurethaneforming reaction). Water and catalysts, e.g. tertiary amines may also be present. A spray gun with twin feeds-one for the polyisocyanate, the other for the remaining components-may be used for spraying the reacting mixture on to a substrate. Specified oxidizing agents are amamonium bichromate, sodium nitrite and hydrogen peroxide.
