Abstract

878,983. Sewing machines. SINGER MANUFACTURING CO. Dec. 27, 1957 [Jan. 24, 1957], No. 40180/57. Class 112 [Also in Group XXV]. A device for mounting a cam disc 68 in an ornamental stitch sewing machine comprises a base 53 having a central hole, a post-screw 41 having an enlarged head and a shank passing through the hole in the base, and a plurality of resilient prongs 58 formed as part of said base and having fixed ends secured to said base, the free ends of the prongs being located beneath the enlarged head of the screw. Each of said prongs has a divergent portion 65 adapted to be engaged by said cam disc. The device is attached to a driven sleeve 17 by means of the screw 41 and when the cam disc 68 engages the device it forces the prongs inwardly so that the prongs resiliently hold the cam disc in place with the divergent portion 65 of each prong engaging an upwardly divergent face of the cam disc. Above the divergent portion of each prong is a convergent portion to aid the engagement of the cam disc.
