The apparatus of the parent case is modified by associating the shell 1, Fig. 1, with a centrally apertured frusto-conical deflector 21 overlying a central shell aperture 21 and forming and arranging the fins 6, Fig. 2, so that they are inclined at 20 to 40 degrees with respect to radial planes with parallel-sided ducts 26 therebetween. The deflector is attached to the burner 14 by a web framework 24 and supports a series of vanes 23 inclined to radial planes such that air enters the shell interior below the deflector tangentially.
