877,857. Moulding-machines. BAYERISCHE BERG-, HUTTENUND SALZWERKE A.G. April 21, 1959 [April 22, 1958], No. 13616/59. Class 83 (1). Apparatus for compressing a mould comprises means for simultaneously vibrating and pressing it. A frame 2 carrying weights 1 is rested on the top of the mould material 10. The frame also carries a member 8 which supports a number of weights 5 carrying adjustable stop nuts 7. When the mould is jolted, the weights 5 move down independently into the mould as shown in Fig. 5, thus producing a local increase in compression. Springs or compressed air may assist the weights 5. Lifting chains 9 are attached to the frame 2 or the member 8. The weights 5 may have shaped ends and may be inclined.
