Abstract
875,670. Endless chain conveyers. KING Ltd., GEO. W. March 4, 1960 [April 7, 1959], No. 11749/59. Class 78 (1). An endless conveyer chain from which loads are suspended is provided with roller assemblies adapted to support and guide the chain in a fixed track 11, each assembly comprising two plates 12, 13 which are clamped to a link 10 of the chain by means of hub members 23 which engage over extensions 17, 18 of the plates and on which rotate rim portions of supporting rollers 20, the plates 12, 13 also being provided with extensions 15, 16 which maintain the link 10 and the two adjoining links in substantially fixed relationship to each other. Guide rollers 19 are supported on pins 21 which are located in aligned apertures 22 formed in the extensions 17, 18 and which are held in position by means of split pins 26 passing through axial bores in the pins 21. The load is supported by means of a clevis attachment 28, Fig. 1, which engages the two links adjoining link 10 and which passes through slots 27 in the plates 12, 13. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), a U-shaped clevis attachment is provided which is locked in place by means of a pin extending through the arms of the clevis above the plate 12. In a further modification, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), the clevis attachment is replaced by means of a loop welded to the lower surface of the plate 13. Specification 737,377 is referred to.
