873,641. Conveyers on vehicles. WHITE, H., and HIGHTOWN MALTING CO. Ltd. Sept. 28, 1959 [June 28, 1958], No. 20798/58. Class 78(4). The floor 6 (Fig. 2) of a vehicle for carrying both articles and material, can be moved', for example as indicated in broken lines, to displace its load to one or more unloading conveyers 13. In the form shown, the floor 6 is raised by bellcranks 7, 7 pivoted at 8, 8 and operated by a ram 9. The ends of the floor slide during this movement over extensions 5 of plates 3 overlying the conveyers 13 and formed with slots 4 which can be closed by flaps 12 when the vehicle is used to carry articles. - The conveyer 13 shown is a push-plate conveyer which has the upper run moving forwardly as shown by the arrows in Fig. 1, the amount of material passed to the lower run being governed by adjustable plates 21. Screw conveyers may replace the conveyers 13, and be arranged to be readily inserted in and removed from the channels. The channels may be secured to the outer edges of the floor plates 6 to move inwardly as the floor is raised. A Y-shaped shoot at the rear may combine the delivery of the two conveyers. The body of the vehicle may be divided by removable lateral compartments.
