Abstract
873,038. Counting-apparatus. LANDIS & GYR A.G. July 24, 1959 [July 24, 1958], No. 25503/59. Class 106 (1). In apparatus for summating on a central counter pulses which arrive from a plurality of remote measuring instruments, such as electricity meters, there is provided for each pulse source a storage device, the various storage devices being scanned under the control of a ring counter comprising a plurality of bi-stable multivibrators. As described, pulses to be counted from the various sources are supplied after division by two at stages C, to respective pulse stores D via amplifying/shaping stages B. Each pulse also actuates a counter 5 for its corresponding source. The stores D are scanned under the control of a ring counter H each stage of which comprises a bi-stable multivibrator comprising cross-coupled transistors 89, 90. The ring counter H is stepped under the control of pulses provided by a trigger circuit F. The various pulse stores D are coupled to a common output amplifier E, and the restoration of each store D in which a pulse has been stored results in an output pulse which is registered on a counter Z.
