Abstract

872,325. Diaphragm pumps. JERSEY PRODUCTION RESEARCH CO. Feb. 10, 1959 [March 19, 1958], No. 4583/59. Class 102(1). A diaphragm pump actuated by liquid oscillated by a piston and cylinder device includes a valve 46 actuated in one direction by a diaphragm cover plate 33 and in the other by a flange 65 on a guide rod 62 secured to the cover plate 33, when excess movement of the diaphragm in one or other direction takes place due to an excess or shortage of actuating liquid, whereby actuating liquid either flows to or from a pressurised reservoir. The pump described comprises two diaphragm chambers connected to an actuating cylinder on opposite sides of the piston and is a mud pump.
