A pouring device for a can or like container comprises a screw cap 10 formed with an inner tube 14. An outer tube 16 slides on the tube 14 and is connected by means of a screw 22 with a valve member 23. A spring 18 is placed between the cap 10 and an outwardly directed flange 17 on the outer sleeve and holds the valve against the inner end 24 of the inner tube. In use the device is attached to a can and inserted into a filling tube of a tank so that the flange engages against the edges of the tube. Pressure is applied to the can to compress the spring 18 and open the valve 23
