Abstract
871,316. Axial-flow compressors; turbines. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT) Ltd. Nov. 10, 1959 [Nov. 25, 1958], No. 37998/58. Classes 110 (1) and 110 (3). [Also in Group XXVIII] Energy conversion rotor blades 3 are mounted on the shroud 2 of a pressure exchanger rotor and fluid flows therethrough in a direction parallel to the rotor axis. Guide blades 7 are mounted on the stator 5. The exhaust from the blades may pass to a duct 17 or in a modification it leads to an ejector in the exhaust of the lowpressure scavenge stage of the pressure exchanger. The blading may be used to drive the exchanger or if the latter is driven supplies compressed fluid to the outlet. The blades may include turbine and compressor blade rows. Specification 722,609 is referred to.
