[Also in Groups XX and XL (b)] A device for initiating a control operation when a current begins to fall from a peak value comprises a moving coil 71 to which the current is fed and which moves on a shaft 77 against springs (not shown) to displace a pointer 79, a contact 82 at the end of which engages a second pointer 80 pivoted on a shaft 78 and provided with a counterweight 81. During the progressive excursion of pointer 79, pointer 80 is moved with it, but when pointer 79 falls back, pointer 80 remains still and the contact is broken. The shafts and pointers are of conductive material and form parts of the circuit of a control relay 60. A coil 72 on shaft 78 is energized to reset pointer 80.
