870,789. Motor vehicle front axles. USTAV PRO VYZKUM MOTOROVYCH VOZIDEL PRAHA. Jan. 12, 1960 [Jan. 13, 1959], No. 1084/60. Class 79(4). [Also in Group XXXII] A vehicle front axle comprises two swinging half-axles, each comprising the members 1 and 2 pivoted to the vehicle body by ball joints at 7 and 8, the ball joint 8 being located near the wheel casing 9. The vehicle centre line is indicated at 6. Steering links 13 and 14 are disposed forwardly of the axle and connect with a rack and pinion or other steering gear 15. The half-axle is provided with a helical spring 11 and a telescopic vibration damping device 3 connected to the vehicle body at 11 and 5 respectively, the connection 5 including a rubber pad.
