Abstract

The invention comprises the monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, choline and isoniazide salts of glycyrrhetinic acid and the hydrochloride of the last named, and their preparation by known methods for converting organic acids to their salts with organic bases.ALSO:Pharmaceutical preparations comprise one or more of the monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, choline or isonicotinic acid hydrazide salts of glycyrrhelinic acid (including the hydrochloride of the last named salt) (see Group IV (b)) alone or in admixture with one or more antibiotics, keratoplastics, keratolytics, analgesics, bactericides, chemotherapeutics, bacteriostats, corticosteroids, xanthoglabrol, antihistaminics, sedatives, fungicides and/or insecticides and an inert pharmaceutical carrier.
