870,561. Woodworking. ACME FLOORING & PAVING CO. (1904) Ltd. April 7, 1960 [April 7, 1959], No. 11738/59. Class 145. Flooring blocks 3 are fed through a planing machine by members 12 and 15 fitted between a pair of endless chains 4 on an adjustable overhead unit, the members 12 pressing resiliently on the blocks at spaced-apart intervals and the members 15 engaging behind each block centrally of its width. The members 12 may comprise a block-contacting face which is inherently resilient or may be rocker arms 11 pivoted at 10 and loaded directly or torsionally by rubber or metal springs. Preferably, each line of members 12 acts on the blocks midway between their longitudinal centre line and the side edges. The members 15 may be fixed or have spring- loaded retractable dogs 16. The blocks are fed from a hopper 17 by retractable dogs 18 on a chain 19 synchronized with the chains 4.
